BIYA FARIS
STONE FRUITS - WATERMELON - HONEY
Historically, in Ethiopia, small coffee producers gathered lots together and sold as cooperatives, or individuals sold their coffee via the exchange, which made it difficult to find single-traceable- lots. This has changed in the last few years, and traceability and the ability to work with single producers is giving them and their coffees the recognition deserved.
Biya is an incredible producer who contributes to the Tokuma Group, a cooperative that has been working with Osito, our importer partner, for many years. Biya’s farm is located 2000-2200 metres above sea level, sprawled over 10.5 acres in the Bashasha Kebele region in Jimma. Biya processes most of his coffee naturally, dried on raised beds for 18- 21 days resulting in a very clean cup that we are proud to present to you. Rich fruity notes of tropical fruits and a pleasant body are a good representation of the best practices in the natural process of these beans.
